Mulayam Singh Yadav, who was born in a farmer’s family in Saifai of Etawah, came to the political scene by placing bets in the arena. On February 24, 1954, at the age of just 15, he went to jail for the first time in the canal rate movement on the call of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, the pinnacle of socialism. He was elected President of KK College Students’ Union. After doing post graduation in Political Science from Agra University, he became a spokesperson in Inter College. Then resigned and became MLA for the first time in 1967 from Jaswant Nagar, the traditional assembly seat of his Guru Chaudhary Natthusingh.
After this there was no looking back. He took many such decisions in his life, due to which people will remember him even when he is no more. Leading the interest of backward castes and minorities in his political career, he prepared his solid political ground. He also took many historic decisions during his lifetime, for which he will always be remembered.
